Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - December 9, 2006
The following article appeared in the December 4, 2006 issue of The Equipment Journal.

Iron Globe's First of its kind in Canada:

According to the Nova Scotia-based organization, Iron Globe Auctions is the "first of its kind in Canada"

This, explains Iron Globe Auctions, is reflected in the launch of a homegrown online auction company catering to buyers and sellers of earthmoving, general construction, agricultural and forestry equipment as well as heavy on- and off-road trucks and other related items

Iron Globe Auctions Ltd. is based out Halifax, and for the last year-and-a-half has been perfecting and testing its proprietary software. The technology allows bidders anywhere in the world to post their bids, and the system in turn bids on their behalf, up to their maximum bid amount.

Another unique aspect of the company is that it offers both reserved and unreserved online auctions.

The sellers have the choice of having their equipment appraised by independent inspectors, and the resulting inspection report along with an oil sample analysis is posted on the Iron Globe auction site for buyers to see.

While not all items will be inspected, those that are inspected will be rated and sold under the
Iron Globe pledge.

"It took us a long time to come up with a format that we thought would give the buyers assurance that they knew what they were bidding on", said Humayun (Huma) Ahmad, company president. "It puts buyers from around the globe on an equal footing. So a buyer in Dubai knows as much as the buyer in Toronto on what he is bidding on.

"Another huge advantage to the sellers of equipment is the low commission structure", said Ahmad.
"We want to keep our commissions very low, so more of the money ends up in the hands of the sellers.

"We want the sales process to be smooth and efficient for both buyers and sellers, and this is the reason we work with other professionals, whether it be in the trucking of the equipment, customs and documentation, or where necessary arranging shipments overseas, etc."

Iron Globe is presently running some 7Day auctions, and will announce the live online unreserved auctions to be held soon.

"The nice thing about our auctions is that you could place your bid way in advance of the auction", said Ahmad, "but the system will only bid what it needs to bid for you to win the item. Of course, it will never exceed your maximum bid".

Another aspect of the Website is the Iron Globe Xchange, which will be a venue for sellers to advertise their products and services worldwide. The Xchange takes the advantage of "the synergy that will be created when buyers and sellers from the local, national, and global level come together".

To show just how user friendly and cost effective the Xchange is, Iron Globe Auctions Ltd. is giving away FREE advertising on its site for any business catering to earthmoving, construction, forestry and agricultural industry.
